If I didn't know that Malcolm X was a real person, that really existed, I'd think it was all made up. Because wow, he led a helluva life.
As a white woman, the book set uncomfortably with me - primarily because I am a woman, and his perspective of women is... well, his perspective.
I went into reading this book to gain an idea both of the historical struggle for human rights that's happened in my own country, and to get a better understanding of a historical figure. It definitely helped to broaden my knowledge of both.
