R. F. Kuang: Yellowface (Hardcover, 2023, HarperCollins Publishers Limited)

What's the harm in a pseudonym? New York Times bestselling sensation Juniper Song is not …

My God...this was so good. It made me mad, confused, and so...so satisfied. Juniper is one the most annoying characters that doesn't think she's racist...when in reality she's close to being that. Using words like "You people" and completely describing Chinese women as stereotypes...when she doesn't even realize what she's doing. I love the way R.F. Kuang wrote her and this book as a whole. You hate Juniper...but can't stop reading, you're interested in her downfall, and I think that's masterful.

Sara Shepard: Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1) (2006)

I enjoyed this; I thought it was messy but in a good way. There are a lot of topics I'm not the biggest fan of, but it is a teen drama series, so I'm not surprised. I still love the show so much better and am glad they didn't do certain thing that happen in this. Like, they are slightly older in the show...at least when Alison goes missing, because in the book it's a 3-year time jump, but in the show, it's only been a year. I'm really interested to see what else is different in the next books

It's interesting how this isn't really about Slappy, it's about a different dummy. It's probably why they never adapted it into an episode. And it's probably who they were inspired by, since Slappy doesn't have ginger hair. I liked this one

1. Night of the Living Dummy
2. Vampire Breath
