Eoghann Mill Irving reviewed Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey

There's been a lot of about the Wool series of short stories/novellas. And with good reason. This is an expertly crafted story with several twists along the way.
Enough twists that you probably won't figure out how it is actually going to end up. And it all makes a dark, logical sense.
I emphasize dark though because this isn't a happy story to read. The central character lacks much in the way of emotion. Not because of poor writing, but because life has beaten it out of him.
And for me personally as a reader that was a problem. I came away from the story depressed, which is really not something I look for. So, well written, but not for me.
