Quite the dud. I got past halfway, so it gets 2 stars from me. I skimmed some of the end.

I enjoy Fuller’s writing style, so I think I would try more from her. But this thing was nonsensical and dull. I did like the pandemic/isolation/survival aspect and the dynamic of these randos trying to make it. But the letters, the octopus, the memory thing? Did not come together well. The more flashbacks I got, the more bored I got because there was nothing speculative there.
