Queen of the Darkness is the third and final book of Anne Bishop's The Black Jewels Trilogy. I loved this book! What an ending to such a captivating trilogy. I am very glad that I bought the trilogy in full instead of having to wait for each book after I finished the previous.

Queen of the Darkness does not pick up exactly where Heir to the Shadows left off. There has been some time in between where Daemon has spent time recovering and Jaenelle has built her coven and court. Many details are revealed of subterfuge in the first chapters. Daemon and Jaenelle are finally re-united, but the reader is frustrated with the outcome. At mid-book, everything that should have been, is. Of course, that all changes.

This book left me wanting more of Anne Bishop's writing, but the ending was pretty satisfactory. I was content to draw my own conclusions rather than have the author paint them out for me.
