In the beginning, I had a hard time understanding the structure of the book. It started out weird, kind of sudden, and there was very little introduction to anything. The structure of the book was fragmentary throughout book, but there was a logic to it. Once I got into it, reading got easier.

The content itself was interesting. I had no idea that salt has had such a central role in the development of human societies. It was very enlightening. Throughout the book, there was interesting trivia too.
