Philip Pullman: The Amber Spyglass (2003, Laurel Leaf)

In the astonishing finale to the His Dark Materials trilogy, Lyra and Will are in …

This book, and the trilogy as a whole, awoke very strong feelings within me. I am very happy that I read it, and perhaps never have I been as happy for grabbing a book (figuratively) than when finishing this book today. I felt a little suppressed by what a shitty world we live in when I started the last 100 or so pages but now, after finishing, I feel refreshed, hopeful, energetic, and motivated. I have never cried as hard while reading as finishing the few final chapters of this book.

This series taught me a lot about humanity and has, in some ways, changed the way I view myself. The three books are some of the best I have ever read. An exhilarating, exciting, heart-wrenching, educational, and triggering reading experience.
