Grady Hendrix knows slashers and how he knows exactly what ties them all together and it's the theme of female suffering. This book is all about the consequence that would rip your brain apart if survived something like "Friday the 13th", "Scream" or "Nightmare on Elm Street". Although I think the scariest scene is where the partner of the one of the final girls dies of cancer and her body has to be abandoned in a public park. As always there's an unnerving sincerity in Hendrix's writing.
