Gonz finished reading The Last Wish (The Witcher, #0.5) by Andrzej Sapkowski
After seeing the TV series I hadn't expected the book to surprise me so much, but well, it usually happens when you read the original novels. I started by this one despite it wasn't the oldest, but because it was recommended in several websites.
There was a completely new dimension added to all the characters that appeared, deepening into their backstories. It was like meeting old friends and discovering something new and big about who they are. Everything has a gloomier, darker, more mature look which make the reading more exciting as well.
I also enjoyed the rich descriptions of the scenaries and setting. The Witcher world starts to make so much more sense now, as so many things were overlooked in the TV series.
