I’ve been experimenting more with the breath and breathing practices as an extension of meditation practices recently, and I just want to report that some of the techniques I’ve come across to try, like vase breathing into the stomach and holding the energy of the breath at four fingers below the navel while dropping the diaphragm down and lifting the pelvic floor up, for example, are shockingly challenging to learn.

Had to practice and learn the technique in stages with a lot of patience across multiple days. Among other things, causes all sorts of unexpected muscles in the core to switch on and work out. Yesterday the technique seemed to come together and I was able to do it smoothly. And this morning, it feels like I’ve been seriously over-doing it on sit-ups, tummy crunches, or belly dancing, and if I know what’s good for me, will take a rest day.
