Blake Crouch: Recursion (Hardcover, 2019, Crown Publishing)

Memory makes reality.

That’s what New York City cop Barry Sutton is learning as …

None

I liked this, but I wanted it to feel more clever. About midway through, when I finally understood what "the chair" did, there was definitely a cool ah-ha moment, but I honestly think that was the best part of the book. (And why was it always the chair anyways? Wasn't the headset the most important part? And it felt like they spent more time in the sensory deprivation tank than the chair!)

I would liked there to have been more twists and turns, especially toward the end of the novel, which felt a bit too groundhog’s day for my tastes.
