I wanted to enjoy this book and redeem the Black Company series but I couldn’t.

The story had a really interesting narrative approach but it didn’t engage me in the events happening, regardless of which time they occurred in. I felt like each of the last few Black Company books have been just a long run on story to the next. There is no self contained story with development or conclusion.

I really enjoyed the start of the series and as the characters grew my interest declined so I regrettably get off the Black Company journey here.
