I am obsessed with this book and its flash stories. Absolutely amazing. I have read it a couple of months ago and I still find myself going back to that little town of the uncanny. Maria Romasco Moore does a great job of creating several flash stories that could easily stand on their own but also share this common narrative thread.

It's beautifully written and plays with incredible imagery and imagination as well. The concept is loose and that's a good thing -- the book has structure but you can float between chapters at will. Love it. Oddly enough, it reminded me of Cartoon Network's miniseries "Over the Garden Wall", but the two stories have nothing in common whatsoever. Maybe the overall mood of these unlikely tales is somehow similar, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

This is one of those books I'll reread just bits and pieces and fully enjoy it all over again.
