John Michael Greer: After Oil (Paperback, 2012, Founders House Publishing LLC)

Solid book, too pessimistic for me

I bought this because it was described as Solar Punk. For my taste, most stories were too bleak, pessimistic, talking only about scarcity and difficult survival, only a few optimistic viewpoints in there. The time after oil doesn't have to be like this, and I expected more positive scenarios and ideas under the label Solar Punk. The stories themselves are solid, some rather predictable, others with good twists and thought-provoking. The writing style varies of course from author to author, but all in all it's a decent read. Nothing outstanding, but nothing where I would regret money or time invested. Reading recommendation.
