I seem to be alone at being a little bored by this book. The first book was a lot more fun, maybe because it was introducing all of this mythology and characters. In the second book, we get a new relationship and we learn more about the Jacinda and the Protectors, but nothing happens for the first two acts of the book. We get this largely-pointless subplot of the cult Jacinda escaped from, we get MORE of the story of the head of the crows and the head of the ravens who are divorced having unending fights. We have a party scene which goes on for maybe ten percent of the book? It was so long! Honestly, when the grandmom shows up at 70% through the book, that was the first time in the book where I got interested. Why are we hearing about the divorced couple still in this book? I just checked the description of the third book and they're not the main characters in that one. It mystifies and bores me. I seem to be in the minority on this one though!
