Review of 'Glutton for Pleasure' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

A tough book for me to summarize with a rating. The sexy times are very steamy and I'm interested in the heroine family so I'll be reading the next in the series, but I was uncomfortable with the trauma that the brothers experienced earlier in life that led to them needing this style of relationship - it's mentioned early in the book that the parents died when they were young and it was already clear before the sexual abuse bit is dropped later in the book that they're in desperate need of counseling instead of trying to fuck the pain away. I try to get all judgements of what the characters in books choose or desire, even if it's not my thing, but for the entire book I was uncomfortable that Devi was helping them to not deal with these issues. There's a throwaway on the last page about seeking help but it's so late in the book that it wasn't enough for me - I was uncomfortable with the fundamental reason for the ménage for most of the book.

I'm looking forward to reading more of Alisha's books but I don't think I would recommend this one to friends. I'd call it a two star review that got bumped up to three stars for the steamy scenes in the first half the book, although let's be real that sounds like everything would be chafing horribly by the third night!
