This was a series that ended with a whimper, definitely not a bang. For a series that I have likened to Danielle Steel for men, this last installment in The Clifton Chronicles was super boring. I get that all of the main characters are older now, but aside from Virginia, all of the machinations that made the previous books juicy were missing here. Who cares about whether a National Health bill is going to pass? This seems like a vanity project that allowed Archer to wrap up the story of these characters in a bow, while teasing a preview of his next book.
