There was a time when I would have bawled my way through this novella. When Lord Dashwood fails to fall in love with Elinora as she expected he would, she writes and publishes as scathing letter letting Lord Ashwood know exactly what he missed out on by not giving her a chance. The fact that I didn't cry a single tear lets me know how far I've come in my own personal life, but does not reflect poorly on the strength of this story.

While it was fun to have alternating chapters featuring Nora and Dash alongside the Spindle Cove ladies and their loved ones, I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to focus a little more on the featured couple. Both Nora and Dash went from hate to love pretty quickly, and I would have liked to see what Dare could have done if the two had had more than one night together. That's not to say this story isn't strong - it is. It's just not a good entree into the Spindle Cove world. That said, for people who've already read (and loved) the other Spindle Cove books, they will likely love this as well for all of the same reasons that made the other Spindle Cove books such fun. Quirky characters, sparkling dialogue, funny situations. It doesn't get much better than that.
