What a fun little series this is! The books are pretty short but they are a joy - a diary of a Murderbot, a security robot who has attained some form of freedom / consciousness. This time, it is trying to find out a bit about its history and gets the help of the AI in a transport ship it takes. It modifies themurderbot to look more like an augmented human and proceeds to help some humans out of a jam and finds out a bit more about its history.

The society is so fully realized and the story is told with such warmth and humor that I can't get enough of the book. The Murderbot is always ready with a good quip (the back and forth between the bot and the ship's AI is a riot) and is always ready for a fight. There's a pretty good story, a pretty good side story and a pretty good open ending, so I can't wait to get started on book #3!
