Duane Swierczynski: Fun & Games (Charlie Hardie, #1) (2011) 4 stars

Another great read from Swiercynski! The first of a very promising trilogy, it features Charlie Hardie, an ex-policeman who now house sits as a way to just exile himself, as he shoulders the blame for his partners death. But house sitting at a small time movie producer's house in Hollywood leads to an amazing, breathtaking ride, as Charlie and B level actress tryto stay one step in front of The Accident People.

His follow ups, while good, weren't quite in the same class. But he is back on the A train with Fun And Games, as the action never lets up, the humor is sometimes laugh out loud and the twists are breathtaking. Someone, Hardie escapes from one crazy attempt on his life and another, yet all the escapes either make sense or, perhaps, things just move along too fast for you to think about. Man, this was fun and I can't wait for book 2, [b:Hell and Gone|9583670|Hell and Gone|Duane Swierczynski|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51mPpPrdzsL.SL75.jpg|14470612].
