This would have been a fantastic book if it weren’t for the dull »empirical part« and the shaky definition of »bullshit job« which Graeber isn’t really using in his theoretical analysis anyway. The theoretical part however contains a lot of great ideas, lucidly presented, some quite subtle, partly from well-known scholars (which aren’t always credited, I was missing some references to Bourdieu for example) and many originally due to Graeber.
