I love Kevin J Anderson's writing, but I think this is my last Herbert/Anderson series. I tired quickly of the repetitive recasting of what-has-gone-before. The characters felt flat and unappealing. The ending left me baffled and disappointed. One species was brought in in the middle of the series and the never really touched again.
