Ursula K. Le Guin: Always Coming Home (Paperback, 2001, University of California Press)

future times past

This is a bit of an uneven read ... not having an anthropological backround of any type, the stylistic nods to (older styles of) writing of this type completely missed me.

Still- the stunning conception overall as well as the stone telling bits stand out as truly exceptional.

Want to read this again (someday) ...

Also I bought the music disc, which I found less lively (more academic) than I had hoped for (although fitting for the conception overall)- perhaps it's worth another listen.
