@kamen I remember liking these as a kid, but I've browsed around about the opinions and I'm holding off reading them. :D I don't think anything can be worse than Amber prequel books though. I survived two, hoping that eventually there will at least be Zelazny-like twist or Zelazny-esque character growth. But yee. Just bad.

@jonn Ah, no, there's no chance Brian and Kevin are going to resurrect Frank Herbert. It would take one hell of a Quija board to do that. And also a ton of money to pay off Brian's shrink to solve his Daddy issues. I just take these as what they are: fanfic. Parts are quite enjoyable (very space opera, lots of engines, lasers and explosions, and also evil Nazi robots.) But I need to completely forget about Frank and assume I'm simply reading some fanfic.

Ok, it's nice that there are good parts. Maybe I shall return.
