The second in the Solar Clipper Tales series, we follow Ishmael Wang as he climbs the ladder of advancement as a crew member aboard the Lois.

If you've read the first book, you know what to expect. I found this book to be equally good, although some of Ish's character traits could have been foreshadowed a little earlier in the book, or even in the first book --- it just seems that the author needed to take the plot in a particular direction, and grafted some things on to Ish to make it happen. It wasn't unbelievable, just a little jarring; perhaps more subtlety was called for.

Regardless, it's an enjoyable read. I think it's certainly suitable for young --- teen-age, certainly --- readers, as well, a definite plus.
