I don't think my mindset was right for this book. I enjoyed the beginning, the set up is intriguing. Around the middle of the book when the fighting starts I lost interest and started just listening to finish the book and not for enjoyment. I tried to rationalise this by "I don't think people would act that way", but in truth - people are acting that way in the World I live in now (though not where I live), and maybe that is more the reason I didn't enjoy the book, it doesn't feel like escapism enough.
