Leyssandra reviewed The Pursuit of Power by Richard J. Evans (Penguin history of Europe, #7)

3 stars
A very broad survey of the politics, industry, and art of Europe in the 19th century leading up to the 1st World War. Its pretty impressive how much Evans was able to cover in this book! That being said, rather than writing chronologically or by country, Evans tries to connect themes which causes him to jump from country to country, and within the entire time period, which can get a little disorienting at times.
