I was so scared that this was not going to have a happy ending, but somehow it did. it is terrible, the things we do in the name of god and whatever that are really about oil and money and control. we white folx have forgotten our connection to the land and it shows.

omg, "red team blues" was good but this was EVEN BETTER, and reading it while dipping in and out of "chokepoint capitalism" and also watching capitalism crumble into pure fascism in real time makes for a hell of a cocktail. 13/12 would read again.

at first I wasn't sure if I even liked this book, but I kept reading and I guess I see why people are so into this author. she has a very good and sensitive hand with characters. the word that comes to mind is "evocative." it ended up being really good, but I don't know if I want to read another one.

this is not the kind of book I usually read these days, but it was good.

oh man, this was so good I want to read it again.

somewhere in the middle of the beginning I got bored with this one for awhile. I've read a bunch of post-apocalyptic climate crisis cyberpunky books like this, usually but not always with damaged yet spunky female protagonists. but I kept going and next thing I knew I was thinking differently about the fucking bible? the ending was perhaps a little pat, but endings are always tough. when you want to know the truth, email me
