Dogs in rural South Korea!
5 stars

Very good. Fictionalized autobiography graphic novel about a couple's acquisition of some dogs in rural Korea in the 2020s. City-folk but - what's not hinted at on the cover is that this narrates their experience of how a minority of older folks were still using stray dogs as a protein source, which has since been formally made illegal in the country, starting in 2027. Dogs go missing from the neighborhood - thats what turns the light and fluffy and well illustrated story from a forgettable 'oh my corgi and street dog playing together is so cute' to a 'Significant Message' narrative. Quick read, memorable, good.
