Busy hunting androids and pets

Classic dystopian on a ruined Earth, where the last human strugglers are more concerned for their (not electric) pets and the androids are running amok. The story flows easy and kept my attention.

I really liked how the world was imagined and visualised in such a smooth and "natural", almost common place way even though there's some pretty weird things going on, like how people use special boxes to merge their minds, feelings and visions of a guy Mercer or how everyone really ought to own and care for at least one (totally real) animal.

It was a short book and I would have liked it to be a bit longer, some interesting bits are mostly glossed over and could had been explored a bit more, for example life on the mars colonies or what the fuck is Mercerism.
