Review of 'House of Trelawney' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

An engaging story peopled with mostly likeable characters, this is the first novel I’ve read that incorporated the financial crisis of 2008 and the way that its perpetrators were bailed out while ordinary people lost everything. This is secondary to the main tale, however, which follows an ancient family, desperate to hold on to its glorious past and yet trapped by the traditions of that past, as they learn to take control of their own destinies.
