I read this every year on Christmas night. Thomas writes prose as he writes poetry, with incredibly beautiful combinations of words and a hypnotic rhythm that perfectly suits the story. It feels like Wales in the winter; it feels like Christmases past; it feels like letting go. Gorgeous.
