Jeff Lemire: Old Man Logan (2016)
When Old Man Logan comes to the desolate town of Killhorn Falls, Canada, people take notice.
A dark, unflinching haunted house novel that takes readers from the well of the literary gothic, up through Brighton's queer …
a fine enough read. not nearly long enough for all of its underdeveloped plot elements to slot into place, which made the pacing way, WAY too fast. ending was too pat.
but
great characters, great dialog, and a wonderful simmering tension and terror coursing through the pages here. this is a desperate and dangerous situation, and that propelled me to keep reading.
so
i do not feel my time was wasted reading this. i wanted more, but as a debut work? s'fine.
