Very enjoyable. The loving descriptions of the different colours and features of the dragons was a nice touch. Some of the allegories (e.g. with McCarthyism) were a bit heavyhanded, and the father was unrealistically vile. But otherwise a fascinating and uplifting book.

As a sci-fi fan, this is one of my favourites. The characters are believable and I entirely agree it would be hard to live without coffee in a post-apocalyptic world. Really looking forward to the sequel.
