This book is not quite what I expected based on the premise but it was a pleasant surprise.
The book goes deeply into feelings of grief and loss and makes one question what really matters in life. Yes, love is part of the story too but not in a cliché way. I really enjoyed it because it does cause the reader to live with the protagonist through these turbulent and difficult emotions, which are very realistic. I feel that this book should be read for inner exploration rather than for escape.
P.S. I also think that the original title Lavender Room and book cover should have been kept. Literary Apothecary would also be more appropriate and quite enticing, in my opinion.
