Review of 'Saga of the Swamp Thing Book Three' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

This volume sees a distinct shift towards using horror to discuss social ills such as pollution, misogyny and racism. Somehow most of this still runs true today, and the portrayals are nuanced and empathetic enough that it doesn't feel awkward or dated. It's hard to say if Moore was ahead of his time, or if times just haven't changed that much. Oddly it's only now I'm appreciating what has been lost with the cancelling of the new tv series, it would have been fascinating to see how it talked these issues in comparison.
