I love the portrayal of post-partum depression mixed with fairy tale horror

Really interesting story, a fanatsy horror with enough science mixed in to feel really convincing. I love how diverse the cast of characters is, with both men and women, disabled and abled, including an autistic character. And the woman-loving-woman relationship that develops is one of the most heartachingly-beautiful I've ever read.

Enjoyable story. I really liked the setting in Puerto Rico and the characters were interesting. The ending, however, was too "just so" which was kind of annoying; and there was again more of a love story than I was interested in.

It's a fun adventure tale. There were some irritating plot holes in the climax and denouement, and for some reason I thought it was going to be a horror whereas it's more of a romance set in a fantasy/horror environment. But it's enjoyable enough

I appreciated this book more than I expected, given my strong disagreements with many of the author's politics. Although Bolton comes off frequently as pompous and as having rather an inflated idea of his own opinion, never missing a chance to throw in a questionably-related quote or criticize pretty much anything Obama did, he also pulls few punches when it comes to Trump's behavior and provides some pretty valuable insights into how Trump comports himself "behind the scenes". So, despite the politics and arrogance (not to mention his irritating misuse of "beg the question" to mean "raise the question"), I'm glad he wrote it and I'm glad to have read it.
