haven't been posting much but did read some stuff these last few months, including some non japanese books

finished 狂骨の夢, really liked the more unreal and even denpa-like atmosphere of the first part. pity it didn't kept it but what it did with that premise was interesting.
so far my ranking would be mouryou>ubume>kyoukotsu
mouryou was the most engaging as a whole, though I think ubume is the one that exploited the overall premise and characters the best (which makes sense as the setting was made for that novel)

read Blindsight, a fascinating first contact sf novel with a theme about the nature of consciousness. people that played subahibi will note some things also touched by that game (though the stories themselves are not really similar)
The man who mistook his wife for a hat is actually a source for both stories. as for the novel, I don't regret reading it but the really interesting bits were somewhat sparse

and since I've been reading some mystery since this year also read The name of the rose (spanish translation). I didn't care much for Foucault's pendulum (I thought it took way too long to get to the point) but ended up liking this a fair bit. and the climax is intense

now I've been in a mood to keep reading hyakki yakou, but tesso no ori is not on sale yet :( should have bought the 合本版 when it was in sale :( but first started reading 変な家, the first chapter was pretty interesting. in any case it seems it will be pretty quick to read
