I started a #Bookwyrm account, but don’t actually like rating or reviewing things 😆
Hoping it’ll help me and my crap memory remember what I’ve read, and it’s a bonus if I get to talk to other bookish peeps about books. @Meljoann@bookwyrm.social
Are people having conversations on there, or is it more like a personal reading tracker? And is anyone using it with a 3rd party client, or is it all on the web app?
@meljoann@topspicy.social @Meljoann@bookwyrm.social I stopped using goodreads some time ago (trying to have nothing to do with amazon), and have intended to set up a bookwyrm account for some time but never got around to it. I really wanted to start self hosting these things but never have the time to sort it out.
@ebauche @Meljoann@bookwyrm.social yeah I never had a goodreads, so I’m all fresh with it! It’s great for me cause I’m a massive public library user, and this is nearly like having a shelf with all those books… or it will be when I’m finished with it 😆
@meljoann@topspicy.social @Meljoann@bookwyrm.social I was also pretty curious about the Open Library system, which I think works a similar way (tracking what you've read). In fact I think Bookwyrm gets it's book data from Open Library, which is run by Archive.org I think. They seem to be a good bunch

I'll import my old goodreads data soon and get it all up to date. Meanwhile followed you this morning ( @alexleonard )
