I think this one was a solid 4 stars. It picked up successfully where the first book left off, and really developed Melisande as an adversary.

The story could have been a little tighter with regards to the wandering around the pseudo-Mediterranean. That felt like it went on a bit too long. It was at it's best when it was most focused on Phedre and Melisande, not too surprising.
