I'd give it a 3.5 rounded up. Plot wise it's very formulaic, but the way the writing matches the foreignness of the setting is interesting.
The ending is abrupt, and I think it raises the stakes too high and fails to reach them.
Major selling parts are the thorough and tastefully crafted setting and the writing style.
