Jack of Shadows by Roger Zelazny

Books, books, books, what I read is primarily fiction of the fantastic variety, although I'm trying to do better by throwing in a nonfiction book every once in a while (like we're talking a 20:1 ratio of fiction to nonfiction, so I must not be trying too hard).
Regarding fiction, we're talking fantasy, science fiction, magical realism, urban fantasy, litrpg, epic fantasy, space operas, horror, gothic, thrillers, capers, espionage, and so on. I'm fairly indiscriminate in my choice of sci-fi/fantasy. I'm either lucky in how I pick my books or not too critical as a reader because I pretty much always finish what I start.
I am also notorious for leaving high ratings. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ are for the books I love and would definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ are for the books I enjoyed, but you may have to be a fan of the author, the series, or that specific niche genre to truly enjoy. Also, this rating is sometimes used in conjunction with other books by that author (as in better than some others, but not as great as the best). ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and below (though, I don't usually rate a book below 3 stars) has that author in the danger zone, where I may not read anything else by them and probably wouldn't recommend.
I am also a fairly loyal reader, once I start reading an author, I usually pick up everything they release. I trend towards smaller, more indie authors (probably why I like litrpg so much). I also like reading recommendations in genres that aren't my usual fare; I sometimes sneakily read something I know someone else is reading as an eventual surprise we can bond over (referring to my life partner here).
What else, what else...Oh! If you're ever in a reading slump and need a good recommendation in one of the aforementioned genres, feel free to ping me and I'm happy to help! We've all been in reading slumps at one point or another, and there's nothing like a good book to rescue you!
