This book unfortunately does not live up to Douglas Adams' books. It seems Eoin Colfer tried very hard to copy the style but could only get there 80% of the way and then used vulgarity where wit gave out. I did read this after listening to the hexagonal phase audiobook thankfully. The audiobook is a much better version which at least to me seems more in line with the style of the previous books. It also more neatly ties the story up in my opinion.

I do remember liking Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl books. I appreciate him writing this book but I wish whoever helped rewrite the story for the audiobook had been there to help smooth the rough edges in the book over.
