Maybe I just read too many romance novels, but not getting anything like a HEA kind of feels like a slap in the face these days.

I found the magic system fascinating, and the geography of the world mostly confusing. There were a few odd threads that didn't go anywhere, like wtf was up with the entire Rosko storyline? but generally it was a fun read.

Until the ending. Which moved really fast, cast around itself looking for somewhere to grab on, and ultimately floundered into a weird litfic ambiguous sunset. Too bad.
