(I did not finish the book nor do I think I ever will.) This entire book is an elaborate joke on condescending, full of themselves, film geeks (or literary nerds, or any kind of "intellectuals" really). It's a hilarious read (like, exploding laughter kind of book, i'm serious), but to drag this joke over 700+ pages is, in my opinion, an act of cruelty towards the reader. Kaufman is a genius, and this is a very unique piece, but ultimately it was just too long and slow for me.
