Becky Chambers: A Prayer for the Crown-Shy (2022, Independently Published)

None

I don't know what to make of a series whose books are this small. It feels like just a few chapters of a larger work, except that it also had a little self-contained arc of its own. But that arc is so small that it feels a little more trite than a full novel would.

To be clear: this is still Becky Chambers, and the heady brew of sci-fi worldbuilding with pointed political analysis is still excellent. But I envy, a little bit, the future readers who will be able to enjoy the full series as a single cohesive volume rather than a series of separate novelettes.
