Aaaaaand the thing I didn't want to happen has happened. I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm still disappointed.

Here's the problem with a good, loving God resurrecting Kip and saving Dazen: thousands of others are dying brutally horrific deaths in the very same battle Kip and Dazen are fighting. Surely, there are many among those thousands who are just as deserving of God's protection and mercy as the fucking Guiles; but, no, God won't save all those people, because...well, because it just doesn't make a compelling story that way, yeah?

Gah. I'm going to finish this book. I don't think I'm going to hate the end so much that I will regret having read the series. But, also, I'm not sure I'll recommend this to my friends and family.

What a shame—coulda been great.
