You know who needs to add high friction? Banks and financial apps. People are scammed out of their hard earned money under stress. Banks can easily say there is no IRS or digital arrest required to send money or gift cards to individuals because it is scam. There should be multiple warnings and holding large fund transfers to new accounts. This is where I want to see high friction added and I think it will protect innocent people. You know something like this shown on money transfer page/app:
@nixCraft Yeah, but still after so many years we don't have any alternative to proprietary, owned by the big-techs payment systems nor payment apps. Despite the amount of hype on the open-source, privacy and all the other actually trendy stuff. Especially since this is an absolutely fundamental issue that should have been addressed, working long ago. Because all it takes is one click somewhere in US and millions of people not only in Europe but all over the world can be cut off from their money.
