Summary:
This was a good extension of the story. It believably expanded the world, and played with the dual narrative between Keal and Kylie.
It created an interesting parallel as the former labored with the Giants and the latter with the motts. The symbolism was hard to miss.
It also really interestingly developed Keal's character.
Thoughts:
This was another good book. It suffered slightly from its scope, and the fact that it really is just setup for a future, larger narrative, but on the whole it was good.
I look forward to more.

Summary:
This is the first book in the Fate's Forsaken series. It starts the series well, a classic high fantasy book, which centers around a boy learning his powers.
Although there is slightly less discussion of the boy learning his powers, it is good.
The magic is underdeveloped, but that's ok because it doesn't centre on a mage, but a "whisperer". The lore is slightly cluttered by an abundance of creatures, but there may be enough of a story behind it to explain that.,
Thoughts:
I really like these books. This was a solid start to the series.
