I was extremely disappointed by this book. I have been meaning to read it for years, and was looking forward to reading it. It was by no means terrible, but I was definitely underwhelmed.

Either I got ahold of a bad translation or I was unable to imagine what it must have been like to read this book in 1850s France. Possibly both.
